The University professor challenged his students with this
question.
"Did God create everything that exists?"
A student bravely replied, "Yes he did!"
"God created everything?" The professor asked.
"Yes sir", the student replied.
The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God
created evil, since evil exists, and according to the principal
that our works define who we are, then God is evil."
The student became quiet before such an answer. The professor,
quite pleased with himself, boasted to the students that he had
proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a
question professor?"
"Of course", replied the professor.
The student stood up and asked, "Professor does cold exist?"
"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you
never been cold?" The students snickered at the young man's
question.
The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist.
According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in
reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible
to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes
a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460? F)
is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and
incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist.
We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no
heat."
The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"
The professor responded, "Of course it does."
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does
not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light.
Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's
prism to break white light into many colors and study the various
wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple
ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate
it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the
amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term
used by man to describe what happens when there is no light
present."
Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil
exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course as I have
already said.
We see it everyday. It is in the daily example of man's
inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence
everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else
but evil.
To this the student replied, "Evil dies not exist sir, or at
least is does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence
of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has
created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil.
Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's
love present in his heart.
It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the
darkness that comes when there is no light."
The professor sat down.

"Things to Ponder"

     Keep it simple!

After the recent massacre at Columbine High School, one of the students read these words at a memorial service; they'll make you think.
"The paradox of our time is that we have more conveniences but less time more degrees but less common sense, more knowledge but less judgment, and more experts but fewer solutions.
"We've increased our possessions, but reduced our values. We've learned to make a living, but not a life. We've been to the moon, but we still don't know our next-door neighbor. We've conquered outer space, but not inner space. We've cleaned up our air; but polluted our souls."
"These are the times of tall men and short character; steep profits and shallow relationships; a time when there is much in the showroom window but nothing on the stockroom floor" Wow!
Today if you want to get off the treadmill and clean up the clutter that feeds the busyness and barrenness of your life~take another look at Jesus.
He followed His own agenda, and He maintained His own priorities without apology
He balanced work with rest, and devotion to God with duty to others. He never asked anybody's pennission to spend time in solitude. He refused to get sidetracked by tempting opportunities that drained away His time. Why? Because He was a servant of God, not a slave to to those around Him!

Think about it!

Read this, think about it and absorb it into your soul.

He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End!
He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all!
He is the Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.
He always was, He always is, and He always will be...
Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!
He was bruised and brought healing!  He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom!            He was dead and brought life!
He is risen and brings power!
         He reigns and brings Peace!
         The world can't understand him,
         The armies can't defeat Him,
The schools can't explain Him, and The leaders can't ignore Him.
         Herod couldn't kill Him,
The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, and The people couldn't hold Him!
         Nero couldn't crush Him,
The New Age can't replace Him, and Donahue can't explain Him away!
He is light, love, and Lord.
He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God.
He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure.
His ways are right, His word is eternal, His will is unchanging,
He the same yesterday, today and forever
He is my Redeemer, He is my Savior, He is my guide, and He is my peace!
He is my Joy, He is my comfort, He is my Lord, and He gives me  life!
I serve Him because His bond is love, His burden is light, and His goal  for me is abundant life.
I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise, the power of the
powerful, the ruler of rulers, the leader of  leaders,
the overseer of the overcomers, and the sovereign Lord of all  that was and is and is to come.
He will never leave me, never forsake me, never mislead me,
never forget  me, and never overlook me.
When I fall, He lifts me up!           When I fail, He forgive!            When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!         When I am afraid, He is my courage!
When I stumble, He steadies me!       When I am hurt, He heals me!
When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!        When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!
When I face persecution, He shields me!      When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!       When I face Death, He carries me Home!
He is everything for everybody, everywhere, every time, and every way.         He is God, He is faithful.
He said it and that settles it.
Without Him, I am nothing but with Him I can do all things.
